Liz Nielsen is an experimental photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her photographs are most often made without a camera and can also be described as light paintings. She works in the analog color darkroom exposing light sensitive paper and processing it through traditional photographic chemicals. Each image is unique and ranges in size from 100" x 100" to 4" x 5". Nielsen received an MFA from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2004, her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002, and her BA in Philosophy and Spanish from Seattle University in 1997. Liz has exhibited her work extensively including recent solo exhibitions in New York, London, and Paris. Her photograms have been featured at international art fairs such as Paris Photo, Photo London, and Unseen Amsterdam. Nielsen has been reviewed in the New Yorker, the Guardian, the London Financial Times, LensCulture, Vogue UK, and FOAM magazine among others. Nielsen is currently an artist-in-resident at the McColl Center for Art in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Blueshift is the opposite, when you see something move closer to you. These shifts create a color pallet of the universe’s ebb and flow and size and age. With a background in computer science and 15 years as a fine art and documentary photographer, Tim explores ideas of what it means to be human. Experimenting heavily with print processes and manipulating digital photographs, Lytvinenko creates emotional and detailed multi-media works on the subject of self. His pieces can be, at once, large scale and intimate, technical and improvisational.

Through the support of a Fulbright grant, Martha Clippinger spent 2014 studying the Indigenous textile traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico. There she met weavers Licha González Ruiz and Agustín Contreras López of Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec village renowned for its woolen tapetes (Spanish for “rugs”) that are woven on upright pedal looms. The couple agreed to translate one of her designs into wool, and they’ve been working together ever since.

Sarah Emerson's paintings and installations present viewers with highly stylized versions of nature that combine geometric patterns and symbolic archetypes to examine our cultural landscape. Lorenzo Vittui's work is often found at the intersection of sculpture and photography and his latest project, Dalston Anatomy, saw him spend time in London’s Ridley Road Market taking pictures, making sculptures and creating collages with materials and objects he found amongst the debris of the marketplace. Vitturi’s process is largely concerned with the creation, consumption and preservation of images. The makeshift sculptures he created mimic the organic and temporary nature of the market, and their documentation is the way in which they endure after diminishing.
The book is bound in exquisite Vlisco fabrics in bright patterns that are reminiscent of African markets and accompanied by a poem by Sam Berkson that layers voices from the market to draw on its disjointed and surreal atmosphere.

It presents a new way to look at immigration, a topic that has been understood largely through media and popular culture.
Before the privatization of immigration, border crossers that had been picked up were bused back across the border. Once back in Mexico they cut their plastic ID bracelets from the U.S. privatized detention centers and continued their journeys, Matamoros, Mexico.

Disco Night Sept. 11 is a chronicle of America’s wars from 2006-2013. The photographs shift back and forth from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to the USA, unsparingly capturing the violent, ceaseless cost, but also the mystery and the madness, the beauty and absurdity at the core of each conflict. The narrative is complemented by nineteen gatefolds which elaborate on places and individuals.Photographs are fragments, sometimes only loosely tied to important experiences. An extensive text records some of the missing pieces. The stories that precede and follow the moment of the photograph, conversations with soldiers, anonymous graffiti that’s part confession, part boast. Disco Night Sept. 11 is an expansive yet intimate account of this defining era of history.

Violence, calamity and the absurdity of war are recorded extensively within The Archive of Modern Conflict, the largest photographic collection of its kind in the world. For their most recent work, Holy Bible, Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin mined this archive with philosopher Adi Ophir's central tenet in mind: that God reveals himself predominantly through catastrophe and that power structures within the Bible correlate with those within modern systems of governance.
The format of Broomberg and Chanarin's illustrated Holy Bible mimics both the precise structure and the physical form of the King James Version. By allowing elements of the original text to guide their image selection, the artists explore themes of authorship, and the unspoken criteria used to determine acceptable evidence of conflict. Inspired in part by the annotations and images Bertolt Brecht added to his own personal bible, Broomberg and Chanarin's publication questions the clichés at play within the visual representation of conflict.
